GLOBAL STRIKE MANIFESTO
WHAT WE SHOULD DO IS STOP LIVING THE HISTORICIST HANGOVER OF POST_HISTORICAL, POST_HUMAN, POST_MODERN, POST-INDUSTRIAL_POST_EVERYTHING AND START LIVING THE UTOPIST DRINKING-BOUT OF THE PRE_SOMETHING ELSE THAT WE MAY BE ABLE TO CONCEIVE - AND THE MORE IT COMES FROM A POETICAL PRESENT, THE BETTER
Hangover: I´m yourself tomorrow. A tough medication for unmeasured illusion
Drinkin-bout: an ecstasy which is infinite while it lasts
Let´s not get too apart
We'll go hand in hand (Carlos Drummond de Andrade)
And then, what should we do?
How about a global strike?
Articulated through internet, using email fwds, without a leader.
The idea is to show that there's a reasonable amount of people in our planet which are interested in questioning the way by which the world is being installed [and not just eating chocolates (commodities) although Fernando Pessoa would prove me wrong].
Digital bureaucracy, control, surveillance; productive compulsion, increasing convergence of goods to the hands of very few; reality in the hands of huge corporations; worship of efficiency, precision, technology; abandonment of the notion of public space, the turning of the existencial meaning of the synesthetic ecstasy into an empty technotrance; corporative institutionalization of art through the marketing appeal of technology -- which goes for itself -- etc..
We will agree on a date: in a certain day, in a certain time, we will all stop for 5 minutes.
This will not harm our fragile lives -- our projects, our jobs, our engagements, the moral bullying of the system over us all.
We will give ourselves five minutes of freedom.
Just for us to believe in freedom again.
Then, we will send to a website videos, texts, accounts, images, describing or relating those five minutes, as experienced by the strikers from any place in the world.
And then, we will schedule another five minutes.
And after this, maybe ten...
When we will be able to do it for one whole hour, FBI will come after us.
